Painting, Sculpture, Photography (2011-2017)
My art explores universal factors that affect the formation and evolution of personal identity. Through a mixed media, interdisciplinary practice, I hope to provoke viewers to consider how their own identity is affected by notions of place, power, mortality, and emotion.
I seek to create an intimate viewing experience in order to foster reflection on the formation of self. By employing tactile materials, often associated with the everyday, interacting with a present or implied human body, my art prompts viewers to relate to pieces through their own bodies, breaking down barriers between the artwork and the audience to create a highly personal viewing experience.
