Made out of donated materials, and constructed with help from friends and neighbors in public spaces in and around Washington DC and Baltimore; Return is a piece made by the community for the community, out of donated and repurposed materials.
Donated Fabric

Return is a Fiber Installation executed over the course of three months in Partnership with the Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore, and the Maryland Art Place Impact Grant fund.

My collaborator Remina Greenfield and I, held a series of spontaneous workshops braiding donated fabric in public spaces in and around the Baltimore-Washington, DC area. We invited pedestrians to join us in braiding the fabric, resulting in a final installation completed by over 100 community members in six different locations.

The choice of rope as a form, donated materials as medium, and public workshops as process come together to create a piece of interactive sculpture that celebrates the power of art to create community.
